A shoppers angle
After a hard mornings shopping, why not come to Cafe Nero in John Lewis, grab a coffee and sit and overlook the river with panoramic views and reflect on its historical past with its mills and breweries and river trade that has built Maidstone what it is today.

Well sorry, but you cannot
because the planners in their wisdom decided to put up a wall with no views, so this is the sight you see, below.
You can however, see the river view from the car park but it hardly enhances the shopping experience.
